My name is Joe. I have taught children here for over 25 years, and I have also raised my three children in Nagoya, where they went through the Japanese school system from hoikuen to high school. My eldest daughter later graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Wyoming, which reminds me that education grows from both school and the community we live in.
In my classes, I help young children learn English through movement, music, and play. Using Total Physical Response (TPR), I connect language with actions so children learn with their whole bodies. I also use choral repetition so students can practice together with confidence. At the same time, I support the development of concentration and focus, creating a calm, nurturing environment inspired by holistic approaches. My goal is for each child to feel happy, engaged, and confident in English.
